The bike rack I use has rubber mounts that hold the rack against the rear of my car, and after a summer of usage, there are two scuffs. The internet's method of using !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! worked well for me on the bugs and dirt, but this is a little different. Would the sheets still work or is there a smarter alternative?

I have never heard of a golf 2.5
the biggest 4 cylinder engine you see around is 2.4
Is it a 6cylinder golf? like the vr6

I used a bike rack on my Grand Prix last year. That was the last time for that...It not only dented my trunk, it also left rubber leftovers everywhere and ripped the "Grand" badge right off my car. Still deciding whether I should try and put it back on or just take the other one off.
With the rubber leftovers, I was able just to rub my finger over it to remove them. It worked like a charm. Not sure if yours is the same tho.

It's a 5 cylinder, 170 hp. Standard in the Golf and Jetta for a while, the new generation has phased it out in favour of a 1.4L Turbo 4. Has pretty sweet go, but I've heard some of them have issues.

I'd just go to your local auto parts store and get some buffing compound that is safe for clear coat finishes. I know it is cliche', but that will " buff right out".

In Australia the base model Mk6 was a 1.2 turbo 4 with around 100hp
VW only offer 4 cylinders in the golf, the 5 sounds like an interesting ride

if rubbing it with your finger doesn't work, try some methylated spirits on a paper towel

The 5 is nothing special. It gets around having to shove the VR6 in there to make some power for highway cruising. But it is no old school Audi motor. The TT-RS has the inline 5 you want.
